Maxim Afinogenov and Ales Kotalik both scored in the shootout and Ryan Miller stopped Adam Pineault and Sergei Fedorov to win for the Sabres. Kotalik also had a goal in the 2nd, and Jason Pominville had a third period goal for the Sabres. Derek MacKenzie and Sergei Fedorov had the Blue Jackets' goals.
Miller stopped 23 of 25 shots, then 2 in the shootout for the win. Pascal Leclaire stopped 30 of 32, then none in the shootout for the loss.
