Predators down Blue Jackets


After scoring twice on a Columbus major power play in the opening 2:03 of the second period, the Predators managed to hold off the Blue Jackets while each team posted tallies. Scott Nichol, Jed Ortmeyer, and Ville Koistinen scored for Nashville, while Petr Pohl scored shorthanded for Columbus. All scoring came in the second period. Pohl's shorthanded goal marked the 6th in just 4 games so far for the NHL's preseason.


Pekka Rinne and Dan Ellis were the Predators' goalies, while the Blue Jackets played Steve Mason and Tomas Popperle.
