Dustin Brown scored the only goal in the shootout, giving the Kings a 6-5 victory over their cross-state rivals, the Sharks. He also had a shorthanded goal 1:05 into the third period. The Kings saw their other 4 goals from Derek Armstrong, Brian Willsie, Kyle Calder, and Brady Murray. The Sharks saw goals from Devin Setoguchi, a pair from Torrey Mitchell, Graham Mink, and Doug Murray.
Dimitri Patzold played the entire game for the Sharks, making 17 saves on 22 shots and getting the shootout loss. Jonathan Bernier and Dan Cloutier split time for the Kings. Bernier stopped 18 of 20, and Cloutier stopped 15 of 18 and got the win.
