Blue Jackets dominate Sabres


Gilbert Brule carried the Columbus Blue Jackets to a 4-1 win over the Buffalo Sabres. Brule scored his first goal in the 2nd period on the power-play only 25 seconds apart from a power-play goal scored by Kris Russel.

Jocelyn Thibault, Buffalo’s only off-season free agent acquisition, stopped a total of 18 shots. Steve Mason was the net-minder for Columbus, and made a total of 20 saves.

Blue Jackets star forward Rick Nash put a puck in net six minutes into the third. Clarke MacArthur scored the lone goal for the Buffalo Sabres, a short-hander ten minutes into the 3rd period, two minutes before Gilbert Brule notched his second and final goal of the night.
