Canes rally for OT win



After going up 2-0 through two periods on a shorthanded goal by Mike Green and a power play goal by Nicklas Backstrom, the Washington Capitals saw their lead erased when Noah Babin and Erik Cole scored midway through the third on power play goals coming 49 seconds apart. Washington retook the lead on on a goal by Ben Clymer at 17:57 of the third, but with a minute left on the clock, Justin Williams tied the game to send it into overtime where Erik Cole scored another power play goal, with 47.2 remaining to give the Hurricanes the win.

Brent Johnson and Michal Neuvrith played in goal for the Capitals while John Grahame and Michael Leighton minded the nets for the Hurricanes.
